Wild Impact Marine Rangers - Wildlife Ranger Challenge 2026

Wild Impact's marine rangers work across Mnemba Island and the Bazaruto Archipelago, protecting two of the Western Indian Ocean's most important marine ecosystems. They are the frontline of marine conservation, working tirelessly to safeguard coral reefs, support sustainable fisheries, protect threatened marine species, and empower coastal communities to become stewards of their marine environment.

Every day, our Community & Conservation Rangers monitor coral reefs, record fish catches to support sustainable fisheries, remove marine debris, restore degraded habitats, and work alongside partners such as African Parks to protect threatened species, including the endangered dugong. Their work generates the scientific evidence needed to guide conservation while supporting the communities that depend on healthy oceans.

Operating in challenging and often remote environments, our rangers are far more than conservationists—they are scientists, educators, mentors and trusted members of the communities they serve.

The Wildlife Ranger Challenge, organised by Tusk, is a celebration of solidarity, connection and camaraderie within the global ranger profession.
