Conservation Through Public Health's Story

We are a grassroots, Ugandan-based NGO and non-profit organization, established in 2003. We work to promote biodiversity conservation by enabling people, gorillas and other wildlife co-exist through promoting their health and community livelihoods in and around Africa's protected areas.

And this year, we participate in the Wildlife Ranger Challenge yet again!

Rangers are Africa’s unsung heroes. They hold diverse roles as conservationists, teachers, community support workers, leaders and much more.

The Wildlife Ranger Challenge, organised by Tusk, is a celebration of solidarity, connection and camaraderie for the ranger profession. Culminating on 19th September 2026, the campaign raises vital funds for Africa's biodiversity guardians.

Give today and the Scheinberg Relief Fund will match every dollar donated, amplifying your impact. Join us in speaking up #ForWildlifeRangers

Team Gorilla: Rising Strong in the Wildlife Ranger Challenge 2026 The Wildlife Ranger Challenge is more than a competition; it is a lifeline for rangers across Africa. Rangers are the frontline defenders of biodiversity, protecting endangered species such as the mountain gorilla while supporting community well-being. Their work is physically demanding, emotionally taxing, and often carried out under difficult conditions. By participating in the Challenge, our rangers not only showcase their resilience but also raise awareness of the critical role they play in safeguarding wildlife and ecosystems. Progress So Far Since the Challenge began, Team Gorilla has proudly completed: • Knowledge Quiz: Demonstrating sharp understanding of conservation and ranger duties. • Push-ups and sit-ups: Showcasing strength, endurance, and discipline qualities essential for daily patrols. • Team Spirit: Each activity has reinforced morale, unity, and determination. These milestones reflect the daily realities of ranger life: staying fit, staying sharp, and staying united. The highlight of the Challenge is the 21-kilometre race, symbolising the long distances rangers walk each day to patrol and protect wildlife. This race is not just about endurance; it is a powerful reminder of the commitment rangers make to conservation, often at great personal sacrifice. Doubling Your Impact As a funded partner, every donation to Team Gorilla during the Challenge is matched and doubled. This means your support goes twice as far in providing: • Essential equipment such as rain gear, food rations, and smartphones. • Training and welfare support to keep rangers motivated and safe. • Resources for conservation to strengthen protection of endangered species. Your encouragement and contributions ensure that rangers remain equipped and empowered to protect wildlife for generations to come. Together, we can make a lasting difference. Thank you very much for your support to Team Gorilla https://wildlife.rangerchallenge.org/campaigns/conservation-through-public-health-2026 #ForWildlifeRangers
