Rangers are Africa’s unsung heroes. They hold diverse roles as conservationists, teachers, community support workers, leaders and much more.

The Wildlife Ranger Challenge, organised by Tusk, is a celebration of solidarity, connection and camaraderie for the ranger profession. Culminating on 19th September 2026, the campaign raises vital funds for Africa's biodiversity guardians.

For more than 30 years, Conservation Lower Zambezi (CLZ) has protected one of Africa's last great wildernesses, safeguarding over 18,000 km² of the Lower Zambezi landscape. Working alongside the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW), we support the dedicated frontline teams defending Zambia's wildlife—including wildlife police officers, community scouts, the all-female Kufadza Ranger Unit, specialist K9 teams, the Marine Unit, Rapid Deployment Team, aerial surveillance, and intelligence-led operations. These extraordinary men and women stand between wildlife and those who threaten it, risking their lives every day to protect elephants, lions, African wild dogs, and countless other species.
