Les panthères noires - Les gardiens de la forêt

The Wild Chimpanzee Foundation’s mission is to enhance the survival of the remaining wild chimpanzee populations and their habitat.

From 2002 onwards, the WCF has tried to protect the last existing hotspots in West Africa, with a particular attention on the Taï - Grebo-Krahn - Sapo forest complex, the largest remaining forest block in West Africa.

Through the creation of green jobs for the communities who live near the protected areas, the WCF directly involves local people in conservation. Community rangers are recruited and trained to collect data on wildlife presence and human illegal activities, to patrol the forest and to install camera traps for biomonitoring.

Community eco-guards are forest's heroes! In fact, the permanent ranger presence in the forest directly discourages poaching, gold mining and deforestation for monocultures, which are the main causes leading to the loss of wildlife.

Give today and the Scheinberg Relief Fund will match every dollar donated, amplifying your impact.
