Loisaba Conservancy's Story
Rangers are Africa’s unsung heroes. They hold diverse roles as conservationists, teachers, community support workers, leaders and much more.
The Wildlife Ranger Challenge, organised by Tusk, is a celebration of solidarity, connection and camaraderie for the ranger profession. Culminating on 20th September 2025, the campaign raises vital funds for Africa's biodiversity guardians.
At Loisaba Conservancy in Northern Kenya, these heroes are on the front line of wildlife protection every single day. Covering 58,000 acres of vital habitat, Loisaba’s rangers, supported by a K9 unit, aerial surveillance, drones, and real-time tracking systems, work tirelessly to prevent poaching, monitor endangered species, and keep both people and animals safe. The recent reintroduction of the endangered black rhino has brought new challenges and responsibilities, requiring even more intensive monitoring and protection efforts. Their work also extends beyond the conservancy, providing rapid response and security support to surrounding communities. With courage, dedication, and cutting-edge technology, Loisaba’s rangers are safeguarding some of Africa’s most iconic wildlife, and they need your support now more than ever.
Give today and the Scheinberg Relief Fund will match every dollar donated, amplifying your impact. Join us in speaking up #ForWildlifeRangers

Jul 26, 2025, 11:20:02 AMYesterday marked a huge milestone for our ranger team at Loisaba—they completed 21km while carrying 22kg of kit for the first time! For the past few weeks, they’ve been adding one kilometre each day to their training, steadily building endurance, strength, and determination. Reaching the full 21km distance is not just about physical fitness—it’s about the commitment they bring to protecting wildlife every single day. This is more than a run. It’s a statement of resilience and purpose. And we’re just getting started. Support their journey and help us raise funds to keep these incredible rangers equipped, trained, and supported. #ForWildlifeRangers #WildlifeRangerChallenge #LoisabaRangers #TrainLikeARanger
