Our Story
SANCCOB's Teams
Jun 4, 2024, 10:20:14 AMA ranger, by definition, is someone who protects a forest or national park. In our case, it's colonies; African penguin colonies to be precise. SANCCOB, along with its conservation partners, have employed penguin and seabird rangers to protect colonies in the national parks throughout the Western and Eastern Cape coastline. Alongside their day to day activities, our rangers will be participating and training for the Wildlife Ranger Challenge 2024. Unlike many of the other rangers dedicated to protect against poaching and other factors, our rangers are more research-based, and preparedness and response for emergency rescues. Follow our rangers on their journey to push their boundaries and redefine our minds when we think of rangers. Along with the 21km weighted half marathon, our rangers will be participating in four mini challenges. Our teams are: Pengwins - Wildlife Ranger Quiz Challenge Waddlers - Wildlife Ranger Time Trial Challenge Fishcakes - Wildlife Ranger Push-up Challenge Beaking Up - Wildlife Ranger Sit-up Challenge This may be a little out of their comfort zone compared to their daily tasks, but there is determination in their hearts.
